Common Grammatical Errors Should You Use i.e. or e.g.

Basic Grammatical Errors Should You Use for example or then again for example Do you realize whether to utilize for example or then again for example in a sentence? What’s the distinction? Except if you have considered Latin or the complexities of the English language, you may be astounded to discover that the truncations for example what's more, for example mean distinctive things. Many individuals use them reciprocally †and they are not, truth be told, compatible. The Meaning of for example furthermore, for example for example implies â€Å"for example† and originates from the Latin exempli gratia; while for example implies â€Å"that is† and originates from the Latin id est. Language Girl has some extraordinary stunts to recollect these definitions, as related in her article, How to Remember the Difference Between I.e. what's more, E.g. She recommends considering â€Å"egg† for e.g., as in â€Å"eggsample† or simply recollecting that it begins with an e for â€Å"example.† for example she proposes thinking â€Å"in essence† or simply recollecting that it begins with I for â€Å"in other words.† Instances of When to Use for example or on the other hand for example for example for example There are 7 hues in the rainbow, i.e., red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. (Use for example at the point when you are expressing a total rundown that is proportional to what exactly precedes the i.e.) There are 7 hues in the rainbow, e.g., red, orange and yellow. (Use for example at the point when you are giving instances of what precedes the e.g.) Desserts are her Achilles’ heel, i.e., her shaky area. (Use for example at the point when you are characterizing the initial segment of the sentence in another manner.) Desserts are her Achilles’ heel, e.g., she eats a 16 ounces of frozen yogurt if it’s before her. (Use for example at the point when you are giving a case of the initial segment of the sentence.) The officer went AWOL, i.e., Absent Without Official Leave. (Use for example at the point when you are clarifying the definition.) Abbreviations are words where each letter represents a word, e.g., AWOL which implies â€Å"Absent Without Official Leave.† (Use for example when giving a model.) Ought to for example or then again for example Be Italicized? There are a couple of things that punctuation masters don't concur upon. One is whether for example what's more, for example should be stressed, as most Latin shortened forms are. Most concur, be that as it may, that in light of the fact that these truncations are so basic there is no compelling reason to emphasize them. [Note: I am stressing for example what's more, for example in sentences, for example, this as an option in contrast to utilizing quotes; in my models they are not italicized.] Ought to for example or then again for example Be Capitalized? There is contradiction just as to whether for example furthermore, for example can ever be promoted, i.e., I.e. or on the other hand E.g. I would underwrite them on the off chance that they began a sentence, yet not every person says that’s adequate. Ought to There Be a Comma After the Second Period in for example furthermore, e.g.? By and by, there is no concurrence on this point. Most sources however not all suggest a comma; in British English a comma is less regularly utilized. Details aside, I prescribe that you pause for a minute to think whenever you compose a for example or then again for example in a report. You’re bound to state what you mean. Are you taking a shot at a composing extend and have inquiries concerning how to utilize for example versus e.g.? I’m glad to reply. How To Solve Marketing Problems By Thinking Like A Startup

Step by step instructions to Solve Marketing Problems By Thinking Like A Startup You could most likely name off a bajillion showcasing issues in a short time on the off chance that I let you. The thing is,â you can tackle a great deal of those issues by speculation somewhat more like a startup and much less like a corporate organization. Trust me on this. Its been eighteen months now since I became representative #5 at a then-one-year-old startup called . Prior to that, I was one of 2,000+ workers in a corporate organization. Discussion about a difference in pace. What I used to do in sevenâ months in a corporate showcasing group, I was presently doing in three days. Actually. Step by step instructions to Solve Big #Marketing Problems By Thinking Like A StartupLooking back has been super enlightening. Furthermore, that interest got meâ thinking: How is it conceivable that a startup with way less assets can make powerful substance more productively than a corporate organization with apparently unlimited assets? Answeringâ that question drove me to investigate the absolute greatest showcasing problemsâ behindâ prioritizing work, overseeing tasks, and hitting cutoff times. So here are the greatest certainties corporate promoting groups could gain from an advertiser in a startup to: Enable each individual from your advertising group to turn into a hero. Make content preferable and quicker over ever previously. Fosterâ a troublesome culture that distributes reliably and liberated from office organization. It will get profound here. Exercises gained from eighteen months ofâ #startup marketing.Problem #1: You Need A Documented Marketing Strategy Before You Start What sucks right now: Without distributing any substance in any case, that recorded procedure of yours is only a major enormous estimate. That is a great deal of effortâ you put into an inward report that doesntâ directly contact your crowd. Also, that implies theres definitely no payout from it at the present time. :/ Theâ startup solution: Start with unmistakably characterized objective and a base reasonable arrangement. Give your teamâ a reason and let them free. Heres something for you to bite on: Some peopleâ have a personal stake in selling you on all the reasons why you need a documentedâ strategy. That is on the grounds that that is the administration they sell you through substance advertising. Advertising plans are a niceâ way to make youâ feel like youve achieved something without really indicating your crowd theâ value. Theres no real way to actually knowâ if the procedure in yourâ plan will be effective or not. In all actuality you have to distribute, break down your prosperity, and gain from your errors and victories to improve. In Poke The Box, Seth Godin advocates this ideaâ by composing: On the off chance that you don’t transport, you really haven’t began anything by any means. Sooner or later, your work needs to meet with the market. Eventually, you need criticism regarding whether it worked. Something else, it’s just an interest. Truly, you can begin now by basically characterizing yourâ goal-the reason for what youd like to achieve with content promoting. At that point you can just conceptualize the manners in which you could achieve that objective, organize your task list, see how youll measure achievement, and begin making content. Our fellow benefactor, Garrett, continually helps all to remember us at that: The easiest methodology is frequently the best spot to begin. So this isnt about making content without procedure. Its that your procedure can be as basic asâ focusing on inbound traffic to begin since you cannot change over perusers who dont exist. You can useâ survey information or blog remarks to comprehend your crowd without composing formal personas. You can organize your ventures utilizing an Evernote note and a couple of visual cues as opposed to putting resources into an expertly structured key record that basically cuts your projectâ roadmap into stone without squirm space to dissect what works and what doesnt. You canâ improve your procedure as you dissect the outcomes from the substance you distribute. Utilize the lean startup procedure to understand your #marketing problems. From there, take a gander at your substance achievement or disappointment, gain from the information, and emphasize. This idea is an applied hypothesis from Eric Ries, who wrote The Lean Startup. In that book, Eric makes reference to that new companies can move quicker with a straightforward, iterative procedure that enables your clients to take an interest in building your item or administration. It looks somewhat like this: At the point when you apply that idea to dealing with your advertising, it looks somewhat like this: Concentrate on distributing content and repeating on what you know truly works. The best an ideal opportunity to begin is presently. Prescribed Reading: How To Track Your Marketing Objectives To Focus On Success Issue #2: Prevent Fires Instead Of Putting Them Out What sucks at this moment: You have a feeling that you have to take on each venture you get requested to assist with. Its intense to disapprove of irregular ventures when youre seen as a help community rather than a key piece of your companys development. At the end of the day, you cantâ complete key tasks in light of the fact that emergenciesâ consume your work week. The startup arrangement: Rock a dexterous scrum and run process that keeps your group from being removed from your vital tasks in view of somebody elses absence of arranging. New businesses are known for being problematic. One of the manners in which they ensure theyll transport on time is by followingâ agile forms that keep them 100% concentrated on ventures that willâ make a quantifiable distinction. This procedure is regularly run arranging joined with day by day scrum gatherings. What's more, you can apply this equivalent way to deal with your advertising: A scrum ace, doubtlessly you, allocates the group the total rundown of ventures theyll take on in a specific timeframe. That is typically the following fourteen days. The group cooperates to concur on what ventures will complete, when theyll be done, and how muchâ effort it will take. When the group focuses on the ventures and cutoff times, they will transport on time regardless. At the point when other hot tasks come up, just the scrum ace can stop or change extends in mid-run. That implies that nobody not even your CEO-can take time or take your group off the present run. That implies your group remains centered while you plan the new demands into up and coming sprints. That helpsâ everyone center onâ the right tasks and gives you an opportunity to deliberately figure out which new activities to take on before you bounce intoâ executing. Theres a colloquialism Iveâ seen around that goes something like this: Your absence of arranging doesnt mean a crisis for me. Plan your work. Work your arrangement. Stay away from the fire drills. Issue #3: But That Would Never Work Around Here And Projects Get Thrashed The Day Before Launch Heres a two-in-one for ya: What sucks at the present time: You simply read through the answer for issue #2 and you contemplated internally, Yeah, right! On the off chance that I told our CEO that I wasnt going to finish her task first thing, shed be pissed. So the genuine issue is that you haventâ gotten endorsement to deal with your group your way without special cases. The startup arrangement: Thrash your tasks before you make them. At that point get your close down recorded as a hard copy in the event that you have to-that youll shipâ your path and on your cutoff time. Seth Godin has worked with gigantic corporate organizations and ran over this problemâ a part in his initial proficient life. His answer? Characterize the day youll transport. Youll distribute on this day regardless of what occurs. Record each and every thought that might pipe into your task. Get anybody included who needs to be. Seth says, This is their opportunity of a lifetime. Whip and dream. Seth says, People center around crises, not urgencies, and getting yourself (and them) toâ stop taking a shot at tomorrows cutoff time and contribute now isnt simple. Help your group choose what theyll make in the time span accessible. Enter the entirety of your thoughts into a database. At that point let everybody whip your venture before you even start. Seth says, Make sure everybody comprehends that this isâ the absolute last possibility they need to improve the task. Make an outline of all the rest of the thoughts that will pipe into your undertaking. Demonstrate the plan to the top dogs and ask, If I convey what you endorsed, on spending plan and on schedule, will you transport it?' Dont push ahead until you get your yes. When you get your indeed, assemble your undertaking your direction and boat on schedule. This procedure, as Seth plots in Linch Pin, functions admirably for both spreading out how you need to deal with your group (with runs and the light-footed scrum process) and for overseeing single activities. Get endorsement regardless of whether you need to getâ something marked at that point assemble. In their book, Sprint, Jake Knapp, John Zeratsky, and Braden Kowitzâ explain that getting endorsement to make projectsâ that are on point from the beginning and end with a whip free procedure start withâ approval from a Decider. In this unique situation, the Decider is somebody who hasâ the potential to call dirty tricks toward the finish of a task. So Jake and Co. ventured to such an extreme as to get composed affirmation that their undertaking would deliver on schedule: In one run, the CEO send the structure chief an email that read, I therefore award all of you dynamic expert for this undertaking. Ludicrous? Truly. Successful? Totally. This official force move included huge clearness While the procedure that Seth follows and the extraordinary structure runs that Jake and his group run are drastically unique, they make them thing in like manner: Getâ approval, at that point work. Boat on schedule, without fail. Issue #4. Your Team Isnt Focused On The Projects That Produce Repeatable, Measurable Results What sucks at this moment: You have such a large number of things you could do, you have no clue about how to organize them. To finish it off, you have objectives like selling more-yet you have no clue about what explicit ventures are creating the best outcomes and which ones you should quit doing. The startup arrangement: Concentrateâ 100%

The Story we Tell :: essays research papers

America and Race have a long and trapped history. The idea of Race, similar to America is an ongoing creation. Race is a thought built by society to promote political and financial objectives. Race was never simply a question of what you look like, it's about how individuals relegate importance toward what you look like. Ironicly a country that invests heavily in one the establishment â€Å"All men are made Equal† can simultaneously depict Race in such a scale, that would quell and murder such huge numbers of individuals. In this exposition I will address what required the production of the narrative of race in American history. In the start of provincial America individuals utilized religion and riches to characterize status. As the years advanced less individuals relocated to America. This brought about a work lack of obligated hirelings. Ranchers went to the transoceanic slave exchange, and began supplanting obligated hirelings with African slaves. African slaves worked in vain, could be effectively distinguished by their skin isolating them from obligated hirelings, and were esteemed for their cultivating aptitude. Manor proprietors found what they a perfect and interminable work flexibly and built up the primary slave framework where all slaves shared a typical appearance and lineage. The plenitude of this new work source brought poor whites new rights, openings, and a feeling of prevalence for whiteness. Many were raised to manager’s estates and abundance trackers. White social orders just because began to distinguish themselves with one another not founded on riches or status since they were wh ite. As slave work expanded, subjection turned out to be inalienably related to obscurity. This propagated white Americans conviction that Africans were an alternate sort of individual and animated the hypothesis that Africans kept up a "natural" mediocrity. This hypothesis of "natural" inadequacy defended for some white Americans the taking of Indian grounds. Indians, another â€Å"racially inferior† gathering, were at first seen as normally white. They clarified they were tan on account of introduction to the sun. Many felt that they were acceptable human material, and the issue was not race yet culture, that the Indians were crude yet they could be socialized. Whites looked to edify Indians however English instruction and Christian religion, transforming trackers into ranchers and representatives. They attempted to absorb them into American culture. The "civilization" procedure and lifestyle started to be viewed as the main path for Indians to live in harmony with whites.

Verlan - French Slang à lenvers

Verlan - French Slang lenvers Verlan is a type of French slang that comprises of messing with syllables, sort of similarly as pig Latin. Dissimilar to pig Latin, notwithstanding, verlan is effectively spoken in France. Numerous verlan words have become so ordinary that they are utilized in regular French. To verlan a word, basically separate it into syllables, turn around them, and set up the word back. So as to keep up the right elocution, the verlaned word regularly experiences some spelling changes. Pointless letters are dropped, while different letters are added to make elocution legitimate. There are no genuine principles for this; its only something to know about. Note that few out of every odd word can or ought to be verlaned; verlan is utilized basically to stress or shroud the significance of the fundamental word(s) in a sentence. How It Works Lets start with the word lenvers, which implies the opposite. Separate lenvers into its two syllables len and vers. Reverse them, set up them into a solitary word, and afterward alter the spelling: lenvers... len vers... vers len... verslen... verslen... verlen... verlan In this manner, you can see that verlan is lenvers articulated lenvers (turn around articulated backward). Lets attempt another model: pourri... pou rri... rri pou... rripou... ripou Most single-syllable words are simply articulated in reverse. fou oufcool (from English) looc Make It a Stride Further The above models are truly basic, however verlan gets progressively entangled with regards to the e muet, which is a significant sound in verlan. Words that end in e muet (like femme) and words which end in an articulated consonant and which for the most part have an e muet sound attached onto the end (like flic, which is normally articulated flique) hold the sound of the e muet when they are verlaned. Moreover, when the syllables are turned around, the subsequent last vowel sound is at times dropped. flic... fli keu... keu fli... keufli... keuffemme... fa meu... meu fa... meufa... meufarabe... a ra beu... beu ra a... beura... beur Verlan was created as a mystery language, a path for individuals (strikingly young people, tranquilize clients, and lawbreakers) to convey openly before power figures (guardians, police). Since quite a bit of verlan has gotten joined into French, verlan keeps on developing - in some cases words are re-verlaned. Beur, generally heard during the 1980s, has been turned around again to reub. Keuf has been re-verlaned to feuk, with a reward - it presently looks like a foul word in English. Here are some regular verlan terms that you ought to have the option to perceive. AP Calculus No Calculator Section Tips

The AP Calculus no calculator subsections thoroughly test your concept knowledge and reasoning ability. The questions are not especially difficult or tricky if you know the content. On the other hand, its good to keep a few tips in mind when approaching those AP Calculus no calculator problems. 1. Know Your Stuff First and foremost, you must know calculus in order to do well on the AP Calculus AB or BC exam. It should go without saying, but if you do not understand the concepts and have relied on features of your calculator to do well on previous calculus tests, then you may be at a loss on the AP exam. Whats on the Exam? Be sure to review all of the topics on the exam. Depending on whether you take the AB or the BC test, there are three or four broad areas to study. Limits, Continuity, and Understanding Graphs Derivatives and Rates of Change Integrals, Area, and other Applications Sequences and Series (BC only) For more detailed topic lists, check out What Topics are on the AP Calculus AB Exam? and What Topics are on the AP Calculus BC Exam? 2. Write Down your Steps We all like to save time and effort. If I can work out the tip on my dinner bill without writing down the numbers, then its a win-win. However, the AP Calculus problems are much more complicated than computing a 15% tip. I recommend jotting down at least a step or two for each problem, even if can do most of the work in your head. Too often Ive seen students with amazing mental math capabilities bomb the test because of arithmetic mistakes or simply because they went too fast and didnt think about all aspects of the problem. This advice is especially appropriate for the AP Calculus no calculator sections. Sometimes you might have to add, subtract, multiply, or divide numbers as part of the process. It would be incredibly frustrating to have missed a problem just because of an addition error when you knew calculus concept inside and out. Moreover, you are required to show all of your work for each problem in Section II of the exam. So you might as well get in the habit of putting your mathematical thoughts on paper. Jot down your work for each problem. 3. Practice, Practice, Practice Practice makes perfect. This applies equally well to both the calculator and no calculator sections. Theres no better way to prepare for the AP exam than to do practice AP exams. Note the plural here. The most effective plan is to complete a practice AP exam every week for at least a month leading up to the exam date. Make sure to get a good study guide with at least 4 practice tests included. Of course no one wants to give up 3 hours and 15 minutes of their life to do one practice test, let alone 4, 5, or more practice tests! But if you play sports, you know that the more time spent in practice, the better your game day performance will be. For example, you might spend an hour and a half every day after school at soccer practice, even though the game on Saturday only takes 90 minutes. Thats five times the amount of time spent in practice as compared to the game. The same practice ratio makes sense for the AP test as well. 4. Budget Your Time Pace yourself on the exam. The no calculator part of Section I of the AP Calculus test consists of 30 problems in 60 minutes. That gives you exactly 2 minutes per problem. If you find yourself spending 3 or 4 minutes on a problem, then its probably time to move on. With no calculator to speed computations, you might discover that youre spending far too much time on a given problem doing tedious calculations. In that case, Id recommend skipping that question. Remember, you can always come back to a problem in the same subsection later if theres still time. Choose your Methods Wisely On a related note, the test makers will never give you a problem that requires such extensive computation that it cannot be completed by hand within a few minutes. Therefore, if your method seems to require dividing two 8 digit numbers, perhaps you missed an easier method for working out the problem. Go back to square one and think about the concept rather than the computation. 5. Use Process of Elimination This technique applies only to the multiple choice problems. Below each question is a list of four answer choices. Fortunately, None of the Above is never a choice on the AP Calculus exam. Hence, one of the four choices must be the correct answer. You can use this fact to your advantage if you have no other methods for attacking a problem. First of all, there may be one choice that is a bit different than the others. Sometimes that oddball answer has been thrown in to catch certain common errors and can be eliminated right away. But be careful; this is not a foolproof technique. Secondly, you may be able to eliminate choices based on partial work. Lets say that you are doing an integral, and there is more than one term in the integrand. As soon as you know the antiderivative of the first term, check out the answer choices. Can any be eliminated based just on the first term? Thirdly, after you have eliminated one or two choices, dont be afraid to guess if you have no idea how to solve the problem otherwise. By eliminating a choice or two, youve improved your odds of selecting the correct answer. There are no penalties for guessing on the AP Calculus exams. AP Calculus No Calculator Section Summary Aside from general test-taking strategies, like underlining key phrases and context clues in the problems, double-checking your answers, and staying calm and relaxed during the test, we have discussed five key areas that will improve your performance on the AP Calculus no calculator sections. Know Your Stuff. Write Down your Steps. Practice, Practice, Practice. Budget Your Time. Use Process of Elimination. Hopefully these tips will help you to achieve the score you are aiming for!

Comparative Advantage Vs. Opportunity Costs - 853 Words

Comparative advantage simply means a country or a firm is able to produce goods or services at the lowest opportunity cost. This means that the firm or country can produce a particular good at a cheaper rate. Based on this theory, the countries which specialize in the production of that have the lowest opportunity costs often bring about an increament in the economic welfare. Countries or firms tend to produce more while at the same time consuming less of the goods or services they have a comparative advantage (Ruffin, 2002). The aspects of trade are always dynamic. When a particular country is producing a given good better than another country producing another different good (with the assumption that each demands for both goods), they would easily trade. However, a challenge comes when one country produces both goods in a better way than the other country. Such a shift in the aspects of trade focuses on the differences between the theory of comparative advantage versus opportunity costs (Ruffin, 2002). The comparative advantage theory champions for the increased benefits with specialization. The countries which specialize in the production of certain goods they are perfect at producing will end up profiting in such venture. Consequently, the gains made by such firms or countries from the trade can be used to acquire goods they desire and do not produce. Comparative advantage will thus not only affect the types of goods produced but also the pricing of various goodsShow MoreRelatedExamples Of Opportunity Cost On My Daily Life881 Words   |  4 PagesQuestion 1 Three examples of opportunity cost in my daily life: 1. Financial Performance of Ebay and Amazon Essay Example

Essays on Financial Performance of Ebay and Amazon Essay The paper "Financial Performance of Ebay and Amazon" is an outstanding example of an essay on finance and accounting. Ebay and Amazon are two of the largest online retailers in the world. In order to compare the financial performance of both these companies, the ratio analysis of its financial statements was calculated. The ratio analysis is illustrated in the table below. The net margin of Ebay is 17.80%. Ebays profitability is outstanding considering the fact that Amazon's profitability was only 0.37%. One of the reasons that Ebay has higher profitability is because the company incurs in lower operating costs. Return on assets shows how effective a company has been at generating profits from its assets. In 2013 Ebay had a return on assets of 6.88%, while Amazon had a much lower ROA at 0.68%. Return on equity measures a corporation's profitability by revealing how much profit a company generates with the money shareholders have invested (Investodepia). Ebay had a return on equity in 2013 of 12.08% which is higher than Amazon's result of 2.81%. The total asset turnover measures how efficient a company is at generating revenue from its assets. Ebay had a total asset turnover in 2013 of 0.39. Amazon had a much better total asset turnover in 2013 with a result of 1.85. The time's interest earned measures the amount of income that can be used to cover the interest expense of the company. A high time interest earned is the desirable outcome. Ebay had a times interest earned of 35.48. Amazon had a much lower times interest earned at 19.61. The current ratio shows the ability of a company to pay off its short term debt. The formula to calculate the current ratio is current assets divided by current liabilities The current ratio of Ebay was 1.84, while Amazon had a current ratio of 1.07. Ebays current ratio is better. The quick ratio is another short term solvency metric that is similar to the current ratio, but it eliminates inventory from the numerator of the formula. Ebay does not hold any inventory, thus its quick ratio is the same as its current ratio at 1.84. Amazon had a quick ratio in 2013 of 0.75. Based on the ratio analysis performed Ebay is a better investment option because the company has superior profitability and liquidity.

Hree Most Pressing Issues in Organizational Behavior

Three most pressing issues in Organizational Behavior and the practices that might be implemented Organization behavior is the study of behaviors and attitudes of people in an organization. After all human behaviors and attitudes determine effectiveness of any organization. The approach used in studying OB is the system approach. In other words, this approach interprets people-organization relationships in terms of the whole person, whole group, whole organization, and whole social system. Its purpose is to build better relationships by achieving human objectives, organizational objectives, and social objectives. Taylor set forth his theory in two books (1903 and 1911) and a large number of articles. Many of his applications, according to John B. Miner (2001) have not met the test of time. One that has survived involves breaking down of movements into their component parts and prescribing methods for their execution. It has prospered today in the form of what is known as ‘Industrial Engineering’. â€Å"Although time and motion study can be traced to well before Taylor, he and those who worked with him perfected the approach and sold it to the world (Reeves, Duncan and Ginter 2001)† (Miner 127). Taylor’s thoughts were rooted in an industrial era characterized by mass production that relied on an assembly-line approach to manufacturing. In such a system of mass production, efficiency was gained through specialization where each worker focused on a single task (Chance and Chance, p.5) Mc Gregor’s model is quite relevant in business approach today. However, it is doubtful if the model can be successfully used to tap creativity among the work force. â€Å"†¦corporate leaders emerging from today’s business schools have been encouraged to value McGregor’s theory Y management approach – employees want and need to excel and in the right organizational climate will do so. Monitoring development and making interventions free essay sample

The Education Acts and the SEN Code of Practice provide frameworks for settings to identify and meet any additional educational needs. The Education Act 1996 states that a child or young person has special educational needs if â€Å"he or she has a learning difficulty which calls for special educational provision to be made for him or her†. Children with special educational needs all have learning difficulties and/or disabilities that make it harder for them to learn than most other children of the same age. These children may need extra or different help from that given to other children of the same age. The extra or different help could be a different way of teaching certain things, some help from an extra adult, or the use of a particular piece of equipment like a computer or a desk with a sloping top. Children may require extra or different help because they suffer from one or more difficulties such as:   Physical or sensory difficulties   Emotional and behavioural problems The aim of any intervention is to provide as much help as is required, but not to intervene more than is necessary. We will write a custom essay sample on Monitoring development and making interventions or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The three levels of support that are set out in the Code of Practice are: 1. School Action (or Early Years Action for younger children) 2. School Action Plus (or Early Years Action Plus for younger children) 3. Provision outlined in a statement of SEN School action Once practitioners have identified that a child has special educational needs, the setting should intervene through School Action (or Early Years Action for younger children). At this level of support the class teacher, the school’s special educational needs coordinating officer (SENCO), a Home Learning College. Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or another member of the school’s staff gives the child extra help. The child has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) which gives details of the targets the pupils must work towards and the action/support that is required to help them to achieve those targets. IEPs will usually be linked to the main areas of literacy, mathematics, behaviour and social skills. The parents must be consulted and involved so that they too can help their child at home, in line with what the school is doing. The aim of School Action is to make it possible for the child to progress to the point where they no longer need extra help. School action plus If the intervention made as a result of School Action is not helping the child to meet his/her targets, the SENCO may need to seek advice and support from external sources, such as teaching support services and other agencies. An Educational Psychologist might be consulted to plan what forms of intervention might best help the pupil achieve the targets set out in his/her Individual Education Plan (IEP). This kind of intervention is referred to as School Action Plus (or Early Years Action Plus for younger children). The aim of School Action Plus support is to enable a child to progress so that they move from School Action Plus to School Action, or no longer need any extra help at all. Individual Education Children who are recognised as having SEN are entitled to an Individual Education Plan (IEP) as part of the School Action or School Action Plus process. An IEP should record what is different from, or additional to, those arrangements that are in place for the rest of the group or class. An IEP is written by the class teacher to help the parents and the school identify the childs needs and to target areas of particular difficulty. Typically they focus on three or four targets that match the childs needs.

Design Processes and Methods Reflection Paper

Question: Discuss about theDesign Processes and Methods Reflection Paper. Answer: Introduction The knowledge on pharmaceuticals and their applications in relevance to designing processes pushed my desire for understanding how they improve health of individuals and the community. I have had admiration for designing processes and methods alike and the manner with which they are applicable in the enhancement of day to day activities. To this effect, I have attended workshops on the usability of these designing methods and procedures, making the content in the paper not new to me at all. However, I wanted to refresh my knowledge on designing methods, and not only did the workshop play the role of a refresher, but I also learned new techniques. The new ideas I gained in the course of these workshops on designing techniques and their applicability in pharmacy rejuvenated my desire to understand more design methods. I have been working as a pharmacist for the past nine years and been issuing medicine to sick people on a daily basis, and have noted the changes in customer relations ea ch and every day. Health system is an organization of institution, resources and people which deliver medical care in order to meet the requirements of the population targeted. Therefore, design processes and methods are the motivating factors that facilitate the achievement of the desired delivery of medical care to patients. The basic concepts of design methods stipulate the manner in which they serve in the improvement of medical conditions of an individual, and the population. Particularly in Saudi Arabia, the health care systems are of low quality and sub standardized, and their affordability is difficult to the ordinary citizens (Hall, Tokars, Badreddine, Saad, Furukawa, Al Masri Trivedi, 2014). Patient-centered medical home (PCMH) offers care aimed at transforming delivery of primary healthcare to adolescents, children and adults (Creswell, 2013). It seeks for the improvement in effectiveness, efficiency and quality of care delivered while taking utmost considerations on the preferences and needs of patients. I understood that the adoption of concepts of PCMH benefits my practices in the field, to my patients and the nation as a while in the provisions of relevant healthcare. The practices of PCMH include practices led by physicians which allows patients access a personal expert, full process of orientation that provides comprehensive care and access to the facilities. Additional concepts include coordinated and integrated care which states the steps to ensure patients receive services, and a focus laid on safety and quality. Design research methods facilitate the creation of new systems for delivery that helps to achieve the aforementioned aims of these techniques and is based on quality research (Taylor, Bogdan DeVault, 2015). The research is conducted through the exploration of smaller sizes of targeted samples and questions on how and why are elaborated on efficiently. As a result, it enhances better understanding of the cultural, aesthetic and emotional context of products hence helping me with appropriate methodologies on assessing the challenges in my work settings. I understood that this concept helps me improving my work to greater heights as it tailors healthcare services to the needs of my clients and the community I serve. The results of the methodology I conducted were based on cultural differences, disparity in income, education levels, insurance coverages gaps, and barriers to accessing healthcare services (Almalki, FitzGerald Clark, 2012). These helped me to overcome the constant discontentment by patients and the community on my pharmaceuticals as they provided a better understanding of the design processes better. Additionally, these results, as stated by my facilitator, are indispensable for the creation of design objects meant for improved methods in the delivery of healthcare services. My research insight was categorized into three major groups, community, individuals and individuals and community intersection, and they originated from the opinions of respondents. One of the respondents interviewed said that he wished he had more time and money for his treatment and cream which are expensive, but his children were his first priority in life. Lately, I have been experiencing challenges in implementing the knowledge on designing methods in my pharmacy business in order to improve my efficiency. Inherently, the understanding of designing processes and methods would take my work to greater levels and my objective for attending this workshop was to enhance better understanding. I achieved this through the many activities I was involved in, group processing and demonstrations from my group facilitator on better pharmaceutical practices and handing of customers. Therefore, the experience I gained from this workshop is applicable to my working environment. It is my firm conviction that I will improve as an individual and apply the knowledge and skills learned in tackling daily hurdles. I am looking forward to implementing PCMH concepts and design research methods to my work so as to improve the quality of services I offer. These would include organizations of clinics led by pharmacists and formulate management pf recycling medications as a means of preventing environmental pollution. Additionally it will prevent the use of disposed plastics of medicine that are capable of casing adverse effects to an individual leading to diseases such as cancer. These fresh ideas will help me in catering for my patients with more precision as I will have knowledge on the expected standards of medicinal care ought to be dispensed. I will be in a better position to tackle challenges, excitements, and mechanisms of fighting each and every problem that presents itself efficiently. I have developed a better understanding and technical know-how on the operations of concepts of designs and I feel adequately prepared to facilitate the implementation of these new ideas to my workings.my recognition on the applicability of design methods to improve work environments has changed for the better and I am excited in carrying on these concepts to my clinic and workstation. My expectations were far much exceeded by this workshop and I am more knowledgeable, prepared and confident, and more than excited in facilitating quality design programs for my patients. Magic Realism Essays - Latin American Literature, Magic Realism

Magic Realism Magic Realism appeared as a critical term for the arts and it later extended to literature. The term was first used by the German critic Franz Roh in 1925 to characterize a group of Post-Expressionist painters. Franz Roh described it as a form in which "our real world re-emerges before our eyes, bathed in the clarity of a new day." It was later replaced by "New Objectivity." Magic Realism survived to define a narrative tendency in Latin America during 1949 to 1970. It can be defined as a preoccupation or interest in showing something common or daily into something unreal or strange. A magic realist narrator creates the illusion of "unreality," faking the escape from the natural, and tells an action that even if appears as explainable it comes across as strange. In strange narration's, instead of presenting something as real, the writers reality becomes magical. The writer suggests a supernatural atmosphere without denying the natural, and the style is distorting the reality. The intention of the narrator is to provoke strange feeling. The explanations are not clear or logical. There also is no innuendo or psychological analysis of the characters, instead they are well defined almost in opposition, and never appear confused or surprised about the supernatural. Gabrial Garcia Marques says for him it is the supernatural and the natural peacefully co-existing and showing themselves through magic realism. It is the encounter of strangeness and familiarity. During colonization, Europeans found a land full of strange and supernatural things and their records were based on their interpretations which lead to a uncertainty of Latin America. Gabriel Garcia Marquez in the Conferencia Nobel 1982 (the year in which he was awarded the Nobel Prize): "La Soledad de America Latina", tells of a Florentine sailor named Antonio Pigafetta who wrote about his expeditions around the world. This sailor described strange creatures, which many can be found today, but his interpretation created a supernatural rendition of Latin America in the European point of view. Overall, Latin American culture is a combination of many other cultures that came during colonization. Garcia Marquez, born into poverty studied law and journalism at the National University of Colombia in Bogota, and at the University of Cartagena. He began his career as a journalist, and demonstrated a unique interest in cinema and dedicated much of his early career to film criticism. Garcia Marquez began writing short stories in the late 1940s. His first major publication was "La hojarasca." In this story, Marquez describes the first fictional Colombian village of Macondo--the setting of much of his later work--and the combination of realism and fantasy characteristic of his style. His early journalistic writings clearly reflect his fascination with William Faulkner. Garcia Marquez's Monologue of "Isabel Watching it Rain in Macondo" offers us an example of the dangers of the "authoritarian nature of technological systems" and an example of the ways in which political and cultural systems are shaped by technology. "Then it rained. And the sky was a gray, jellyish substance that flapped it's wings a hand away from our heads" is a form of magic realism described in his short story. Garcia Marquez carries out his distortion of direct historical time through the internal monologues that record the narrators' thoughts, and through the complex effect of many monologues. The extent of the narrators' structure of social and historical reference differs significantly, and is almost immediately outlined by their reactions to the first historical sign, the sound of the train's horn, which marks 2:30. Garcia Marquez employs to overturn the passage of time at the level of the stories structure. The reader must read backwards and forwards at once in order to locate all of the emphasis of a strain and establish the relative historical order of the monologues in which they appear. It is remarkable over the family setting and the weather with the new season. The narrator and the family in this short story seem to be the upper class and the Indians as the servants. The second extravagant image comes when the narrator and her stepmother are talking about having the Indians put the flowerpots on the veranda "and that was what they did, while the rain grew like an immense tree over the other trees." Everyone is down due to all of the rain as the narrator talks about her father's eyes being "lost in the labrynth of the rain." Giving a demoning presence, their house was soon flooded "the floor covered by a thick surface of viscious, dead water." Everywhere things were getting worse especially when

Student Soviet Union and Edit Section Essay

Student Soviet Union and Edit Section Essay Student: Soviet Union and Edit Section Essay Moldova From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article is about the modern state. For the principality, see Moldavia. For other uses, see Moldova (disambiguation). Moldova i/mÉ”Ë lˈdoÊŠvÉ™/,[nb 1][nb 2] officially the Republic of Moldova (Romanian: Republica Moldova pronounced [reˈpublika molˈdova]), also known as Moldavia,[10] is a landlocked[11] country in Eastern Europe located between Romania to its west andUkraine to its north, east and south. Its capital city is HYPERLINK "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chi%C8%99in%C4%83u" \o "ChiÈ™inÄÆ'u" ChiÈ™inÄÆ'u. Moldova declared itself an independent state with the same boundaries as the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1991 as part of the dissolution of the Soviet Union. A new constitution was adopted July 29, 1994. A strip of Moldova's internationally recognised territory on the east bank of the river Dniester has been under the de facto control of the breakaway government ofTransnistria since 1990. As a result of a decrease in industrial and agricultural output since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the relative size of theservice sector in Moldova's economy has grown to dominate its GDP and currently stands at over 60%. Moldova remains, however, the poorest country in Europe.[11][12]Moldova is a parliamentary republic with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. It is, among other organizations, a member state of the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the World Trade Organization (WTO), theOrganization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC). The country aspires to join the European Union[13] and, to this end, has implemented an initial three-year action plan within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP).[14] Etymology[ HYPERLINK "http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Moldovaaction=editsection=1" \o "Edit section: Etymology" edit] Main article: Name of MoldovaThe name "Moldova" is derived from the Moldova River; the valley of this river was a political centre when the Principality of Moldavia was founded in 1359.[15] The origin of the name of the river is not clear. Effect of Mergers and Acquisitions on Health Care Essay

Effect of Mergers and Acquisitions on Health Care - Essay Example This dissertation will discuss the impact of Mergers and Acquisitions on the Healthcare services using specific examples. It will also focus on the impact it has had on the workforce, patients and the organizations themselves. Mergers and acquisitions or M&A as it is popularly called, come to influence the organizations that undergo the process as there are numerous changes especially at the top levels such as in the ownership, in mode of operation, and also in the way the business is done. Of the three strategic assets that have been listed above, the degree of cultural cohesion is found to be the most important asset in the ultimate outcome of the deal. In fact, cultural cohesion also happens to be the one that impacts the extent to which qualitative talent retention can be achieved. It is a common practice for companies in the modern days to publish their cultural heritage and values. However, it has always been found that whatever is mentioned does not always mean that it exists there in the existing culture of the place. Anthropologists have always believed that the procedure for knowing about a particular group's culture does not necessarily begin by asking members to identify the specific traits. In fact, in most instances, the cultural traits of the surroundings are not easily identified by the members belonging to the social group. As such, gaining an insight into the nuances of cultural influences that are practiced over time within a specific group or organization involves a thorough process and means studying over prolonged periods of time and observation. This observation is used to form important questions about practices, disciplines and the techniques used to define and solve problem using well-formed strategies (K. Conner, 1991). Cultural Cohesion The amount of cohesion within a company's cultural domain is dependent on the proper identification of the organization's cultural components, which can be mapped directly to the structural components of the building such as the foundation, walls, beams etc. therefore, it is extremely necessary to carry out a thorough inspection of the whole area, identify and assess the walls of a building so as to be able to arrive at possible conclusions on the integrity of the space before the entire place can be restructured or renovated. Despite the fact that a company may have been acquired given the positive opinion on attributes such as brands, competencies, stocks and assets, the real success for a merged enterprise depends on whether the necessary steps have been initiated to identify and retain the organization's predominant cultural attributes that sustain and support the necessary inherent valuable resources (R Grant, 1991). Impact of Mergers and Acquisitions on the organizations involved To begin with, it should be understood that healthcare services has in itself become an industry due to several factors, the major one being the rapid rise in population over the last couple of decades. It's a well known fact that increase in population implies increasing demand for health care services. Changing environmental factors and the proliferation of new diseases arising out of them also has been a major factor towards commercialization of health care services. Also the improving lifestyles of the people seeking healthcare servic

This is an essay to get accepted to american university of paris

This is an to get accepted to american university of paris - Essay Example There are several reasons why I am passionate about studying at the American University of Paris. The American University of Paris is home to many successful individuals. The mission statement of American University of Paris depicts everything that I am looking for in an university. A university that focuses on hands on learning, history and being a responsible individual is a place I would enjoy being a part of (American University of Paris 2011). Ethnic backgrounds should be able to come together and learn with one another. This is what sets American University of Paris apart from other universities. The universities focus on students from different nationalities makes American University of Paris a leader in education. In a world that is becoming more ethnically diverse, this is important. Learning in a national setting can help explore national issues. Learning in a national atmosphere will help to further explore national concerns. Some national concerns are war and the environment. Both concerns are concerns that affect all people. War is not the answer for anything. Human beings should be able to talk issues out with one another until an agreement is made. Killing innocent individuals over mindless problems seems like a waste of time. Obtaining a diverse education can help address national concerns. The environment is something that every individual from every type of background has to deal with. We as a human race are on this earth together and all affected by natural disasters and global warming issues. Natural disasters can happen at any time and affect anyone. It is important for those affected to be able to seek help from all over the world. This is why it is so important for me to study and learn discipline with individuals of different education and geographical backgrounds. Global warming issues are a national concern for me and should be a national concern

Study of Peak Oil and Gas Essay Example for Free

Study of Peak Oil and Gas Essay In 2004, the world production of oil was estimated at just over 29. 7 Bbl. The corresponding world consumption for oil during the same period was estimated at 29. 6 Bbl of oil, leaving a surplus of just under 0. 1 Bbl at the end of the year. In the United States, one of largest consumer markets for oil and oil products, from the first week in September 2004 to the first week in September 2005, gasoline prices increased by a staggering $1. 22 per gallon to $3. 12 before dropping to $2. 25 on November 21, 2005. These figures are quite staggering considering that contracts for crude changed hands at 10 USD/barrel in 1999. With the emergence of China in the global market and its increasing demand for oil, it is projected that unless oil companies are able to increase the world production by investing investment in oil and natural-gas production oil prices could increase exponentially over the next ten (10) years. The obvious factor in determining the supply of oil in the world is the amount of oil that can actually be extracted and processed. Oil is essentially a non-renewable energy source and cannot be replenished once it has been extracted from the ground. The role of oil companies and countries is not in the actual production of oil but in it rationing. A network of scientists called the Association for the Study of Peak Oil and Gas (ASPO) which is affiliated with a wide array of global institutions and universities studies the depletion rate of oil. ASPO studies concern themselves in determining the date and impact of the peak and decline of the world’s production of oil and gas, due to resource constraints. The ASPO uses the â€Å"Peak Oil Theory† or the â€Å"Hubbert Peak Theory† which is a method of modeling known oil reserves and production rates and routinely used by oil companies to predict future yields of existing oil fields (Legget, 2005). Using this model, it has been projected that the world oil production growth trends, in the short term, have been decreasing over the last 18 months. Average yearly gains in world oil production from 1987 to 2005 were 1. 2 million barrels per day (mbbl/d) (1. 7%). Global production averaged 84. 4 mbbl/d in 2005, up only 0. 2 mbbl/d (0. 2%), from 84. 2 mbbl/d (13. 4 million m? /d) in Q4 2004 (Legget, 2005). ASPO predicts that conventional plus unconventional oil production will peak around 2007 What this data basically means is that the current supplies of oil all over the world are being depleted and newer sources have not yet been discovered. To bring the supply of oil up again, oil companies must invest more in locating more oil fields and also develop new technologies to improve the current refining processes to allow for a more efficient production of oil. This first factor in the supply of oil is basically dependent on the actual amount of oil that can be produced and processed and also considers the capacity of oil companies to refine oil more efficiently and to tap other sources of oil (Deffeyes, 2005). This factor however also heavily depends on the capital investments that oil companies make in the oil industry. One of the main factors which affect the demand for oil is the price of oil. But given the fact that oil is a necessary resource and that it is a non-renewable energy sources, the supply can basically only remain at a certain â€Å"Peak† level depending on the amount which can actually be processed and the demand also remains at a certain level even if oil prices continue to rise (Case, 1999). Ordinarily, if the resources were renewable, there would be perfect elasticity between the supply and the demand in proportion to the increase or change in the price. Therefore, if the price of oil were to increase, it would theoretically result in the demand for oil to decrease (Case, 1999). This assumption however cannot be applied to the case of oil because, as mentioned earlier, oil is a non-renewable resources and remains as the primary source of energy in the world today. This shows the inelastic demand for oil. The reason for this is that since oil remains the main energy source in most countries, the demand for oil will remain constant despite the changes in the price of oil (Case, 1999). While theoretically it is expected that there will be a greater demand for oil if the price decreases, it is important to factor in the fact that more governments around the world are implementing energy saving policies as well as trying to reduce to dependence on oil as an energy source by developing alternative sources of energy (hybrid cars, solar power, hydroelectric power) (Simmons, 2005). The fact that oil is a non-renewable resource must also be considered. The next factor which affects demand for oil is the availability of alternative energy sources which are cheaper (Bilgen, 2004). The presence of substitutes in a market allows the demand for oil to decrease if the price continues to increase (Case, 1999). Before discussing this factor, it is important to remember that the development of alternative energy sources is not in proportion to the increasing rate of demand for oil. The presence of substitutes in a market affects demand because any increase in the price of the commodity means that the consumers have an alternative and can lower their demand for the commodity and purchase the substitute instead (Case, 1999). The same principle applies for oil except that it must be remembered that the development of these substitutes or alternative sources of energy takes a considerably longer amount of time than conventional substitutes. However, under the assumption that there are already alternative sources of energy available in the market, it can be expected that the demand will react accordingly to any increase in the price of oil. The dependence on oil as an energy source will decrease thus reducing the demand for oil in proportion to the price increases (Pimentel, 1998). The challenge remains however for countries and governments to find ways to find alternative energy sources to reduce the world dependence on oil as an energy source and ease the burden that the increasing prices have on the consumer. While the government may effectively regulate its use, the best solution is still in the development of energy substitutes for the market (Pimentel, 1998). Other factors which also have an effect on the demand for oil are things such as the government regulations on the use of fossil fuels, energy saving campaigns and environmental regulations. The government can implement these measures by increasing taxes or imposing fines. The effect that this has on demand is simple. The government regulations effectively reduce demand because the consumers are restricted from buying more oil. By encouraging the implementation of energy saving policies, oil consumption is also greatly decreased thus affecting the demand. The demand for oil therefore is affected by many factors such as price, availability of substitutes, and government intervention in the form of taxes, energy regulations and price controls.
